The Waterfront Barrow in Furness Business Park, pictured below, was a Barrow Regeneration (West Lakes Renaissance URC) led development on land owned by Cumbria County Council initially opening up around 60 acres of land by installation of services, raising of land levels construction of access roads installation of brioadband ducting, and marketing.
Further stages of development are planned.Currently the initial developments underway involve construction of operting bases for windfarm operators Dong Energy, Vattenfall and Scottish Power Renewables
Property developers or Individual firms can develop their own build projects, once they have bought a plot,the land costs around £100k/acre.

The Harding Rise access road now opened takes the A590 through the junction of Michaelson Road and Ramsden Dock Road to the spine road roundabout on the Business Park.The route forms the main access into the Business Park replacing access from Ramsden Dock Road.It also vastly improves road access to the ABPplc owned port estate.
